Corporate Actions Processing
Classify events, compute dividend, split, bonus and rights entitlements, and apply ex-date and election rules the everyday accuracy an asset-servicing seat is screened on.
The scenario
You've joined the asset-servicing (corporate actions) team. Today's diary has a dividend, a stock split, a bonus issue and a rights issue to process across client positions, plus a couple of election deadlines to watch. Process each event precisely: classify it, put the right number of shares or the right cash amount against the holding, and apply the entitlement rules correctly.
Where this shows up
Corporate-actions processing is a core asset-servicing and middle-office function, and event classification plus entitlement arithmetic is exactly the objective, accuracy-tested content that operations assessments use to screen candidates.

The drill
Answer each item. Numeric answers are graded to a small tolerance. Every convention you need (split ratio direction, settlement cycle, rounding, withholding rate) is stated in the prompt, so work strictly to what each question specifies.
Sample question
Select every event below that is VOLUNTARY, i.e. it requires the holder to make an election rather than being applied automatically.
